Less Government ≠ Saying Nothing About Global Christian Slaughter

Yes, Please

The joint we run – is called Less Government.  We want…less government.

The mission statement pretty much writes itself.  But there are some issues on the edges – which call into question whether Less Government has a role.

To wit: The ongoing global slaughter of Christians.

100,000 Christians Killed Yearly for Their Faith

Invading nations in ridiculous attempts to re-make them into US states – a la Afghanistan and Iraq – is certainly terrible policy.

But it isn’t too much to ask of our government – to use its global bully pulpit to raise the profile of this international Christian genocide.

For those of you wondering:

Why hasn’t the United Nations (UN) said or done…just about anything about this – given it’s ostensibly right in their wheelhouse?

I only remind you of how we less government types have since its inception – been righteously ridiculing the feckless and fetid UN.

While the UN spends its time and our money raping tens of thousands of women and chasing fake phantoms like Climate Change….

Christians Flee Growing Persecution in Africa

And as bad as things are continent-wide – nowhere is it worse than in Nigeria.

Christians Murdered Nonstop in Nigeria

Nigerian Christians Under Siege

Here’s a seemingly mind-blowing sentence:

“Nigeria continues to be the most dangerous nation for Christians—where more Christians have been killed last year than all around the Muslim world combined.”

Except this ongoing Nigerian Christian mass murder – is being conducted by Muslims.

Muslims Murdered 60,000 Christians in Nigeria over Last 20 Years

So perhaps it’s time we consider Nigeria a part of the Muslim world.

Over 1,000 Christians in Nigeria Killed by Fulani, Boko Haram in 2019

Boko Haram?:

“Their main goal was to purify Islam in northern Nigeria. Since March 2015, the group has been aligned with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.”

“Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant” – is uber-radical ISIL.  So that’s nice.

Fulani?:

“The Fulani were early adopters of Islam, participating in holy wars, or jihads, in the 16th Century that established them as a dominant social and economic force in Western Africa.”

Oh good: Old school radical Islam – joining forces with state-of-the-art radical Islam.

And Christians are paying the price with their lives.

Muslims Murder 500 Christians in Nigeria

Nigerian Muslim Militants Kill 120 Christians

Nigeria: Muslims Murder 86 Christians

Muslim Extremists Massacre 48 Christians in Nigeria

Muslim Extremists Murder 39 Christians in Benue State, Nigeria

Nigeria: Muslims Attack Christian Villages, Murder 32

Radical Muslims Murder More Than 30 Nigerian Christians

Nigeria: Muslims Murder Over 20 Christians

Islamists Murder Nine More Christians in Nigeria

We could list awful headlines like this…until the crack of Doom.

We wanted to give you a sampling of them, because….

Media Silence Surrounds Muslim Massacre of Christians

…you may not have been aware.

Every effort to bring attention to this Nigerian nightmare – brings us closer to alleviating the slaughter.

To wit:

Activists Press Trump Administration to Aid Embattled Nigerian Christians:

“International activists are sounding the alarm over what they say is the pervasive and violent persecution of Christians in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, pressing the Trump administration Wednesday at a Washington press briefing to appoint a special presidential envoy to address the problem.

“The International Committee on Nigeria (ICON) launched a campaign Wednesday titled the ‘Silent Slaughter’ to raise awareness about the estimated more than 60,000 Nigerians who have died as a result of religious conflicts since 2001.  Already this year, ICON reports more than 400 Nigerians were killed because of their Christian faith, with thousands more displaced….

“ICON activists are hoping the ‘Silent Slaughter’ awareness campaign will draw the attention of the Trump administration and prompt the White House to name a special envoy to the ailing West African nation.”

Thankfully, the Donald Trump Administration has been better on global Christian persecution – than any administration in many decades.

Trump Admin Announces Global Alliance to Defend Religious Liberty, End Religious Persecution

Trump Administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly stated that religious freedom is the administration’s number one foreign policy.

Nigeria deserves special administration attention.

Because most unfortunately, Nigerian Christians have long been receiving from Muslims murderous special attention.

It is not deviating much at all from our Less Government mission – to join in the ask.

And it is eminently worth it.
